Yes, I dont want to say there is no handsome in gay circle but there is lack of masculine man feeling men in comparing with staight men.  Of course, more striaght men in heterosexual world and thus there is much more handsome men then we do. The basis is that the masculine common man (even not handsome but not ugly ) still looks good and sexy as MAN!
